Pouch Cell manufacturing equipment is an automated system designed to manufacture pouch-type lithium-ion battery cells. The machine is composed of several processing stations, each responsible for a specific manufacturing step, including electrode coating machine, electrode slitting machine, cell stacking, sealing, and electrolyte injection.

The electrode coating station applies electrode materials, typically a mixture of active material, binder, and conductive additive, onto a thin copper or aluminum current collector substrate. The coated electrode is then sent to the slitting station, where it is cut into strips of the appropriate width.

At the cell stacking station, the coated electrode strips are arranged in an alternating pattern, separated by a microporous separator, and stacked together to form a jelly-roll structure. The jelly-roll is then inserted into a pouch-shaped polymer or metal laminate, which serves as the cell casing.

The pouch is sealed by a heat-sealing process at the sealing station, and then filled with electrolyte at the electrolyte injection station. Finally, the cell is subjected to a formation process, which involves cycling the cell through a series of charge and discharge cycles to condition it for use.
