During operation of the ball mill, the grinding media and materials inside the cylinder are lifted to a certain height along with the cylinder's rotation. Due to gravitational force, the materials detach from the cylinder wall and fall along a parabolic trajectory. The materials are crushed under the impact of the grinding media, as well as the friction and shearing effects generated by the rolling and sliding of the grinding media.
